Boat should be landed at its closest point to shore, 2miles ,and then walk 6miles down the beach. total time = 1 hour +1.2 hours for total of 2.2 hours If the boat is angled in towards shore-say at a 45 degree angle, distance to shore would be the square root of 8 or almost 2.83 miles and 1.42 hours rowing. with 4 miles to walk requiring .8 hour for total of 2.22 hours. There is no angle the boat could be steered to beat the time steering to closest point to shore.
