Can taking painkillers for pms delay a period?

I have been experiencing pms symptoms all week and am expecting my period today june 3rd. Since yesterday i have been taking painkillers (Aleve) for pain. I still haven't seen any spotting no sign of a period only the mild pains indicating that its time for my period. Could it be that my uterus needs the pain to contract and since i been taking the pain killers it hasnt been able too. Therefore delaying my period or is my theory really wrong? DONT THINK AM prego either because i have been using a contraceptive method.
