Is this part of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar historical?

In Act III, Brutus allows Antony to take the corpse of Caesar to the Forum and to make a funeral speech there. Is this historical? My teacher said that there is an actual rock in the Forum where Mark Antony made a speech about Caesar's death.
