Is this the same charge?

My close friend was recently arrested for two charges. Domestic battery and ault. He chased after an underage boy (but didnt touch him) down a driveway and cussed him. He chased after him because him and his gf just broke up and his gf was hanging out with that boy. Him and his exgf was walkin up the driveway and she said that he hit her, but later told the cops that he didnt. I was just wondering, is those charges the same? Or was one for her and one for the boy?
